While with B Squadron he deployed to the Vaseau Lake and Okanogan Mountain Park forest fires during Op PEREGRINE. As a Troop Leader in Recce Squadron, he deployed to Afghanistan on Op ATHENA in 2004. Upon redeployment he was employed as Battle Captain Recce Squadron prior to being posted in summer 2005. He deployed on his second tour to Afghanistan in 2008, serving with Task Force Kandahar Headquarters as a planner for Afghan National Police Development. Captain Mallette returned to the Regiment as Second in Command of Recce Squadron in 2009 and deployed with F Company to Cypress Mountain on Op PODIUM.
