Major M Lubiniecki
Officer Commanding Recce Squadron
Major Mark Lubiniecki joined the Canadian Forces in 1995 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant into the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) in 2000 following graduation from the Royal Military College of Canada. He was posted to Edmonton and joined C Squadron as a tank troop leader. He commanded the Regimental Cambrian Patrol Team to a Silver medal victory in 2001 in Whales, England. In 2002 he was employed as the Reconnaissance Squadron Battle Captain prior to being posted into the Brigade Headquarters G3 Cell in 2003.
He deployed to Afghanistan in 2004-2005 as the Battle Captain of the Multi-national Brigade Reconnaissance Squadron operating out of Kabul. On his return to Canada, he served as the Acting Officer Commanding both Reconnaissance and A Squadrons respectively until being transferred into B Squadron as both the Second-in-Command and Battle Captain for the deployment in 2006-2007 to Afghanistan, in the tanks first combat operations since the Korean War.
He completed a year as the Regimental Adjutant in 2007 and was posted to the Canadian Manouevre Training Center (CMTC) in Wainwright, AB where he was employed as the Observer Controller Trainer (OCT) Tank Team Leader for one year and as the Officer Commanding the Contemporary Operating Environment Force (COEFOR) in his second year. He was posted back to the Regiment in 2010 and is currently employed as Officer Commanding Reconnaissance Squadron. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from The Royal Military College of Canada. Major Lubiniecki currently resides in St Albert with his wife Marie, sons Hunter and Coleton, and daughter Halle. |
