Regimental Society
In 1974, the need for an organization dedicated to the preservation of the history and traditions of Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) Regiment was realized.
The Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) Regimental Society was formed under the Societies Act of Alberta with the following objectives:
- To further the traditions and heritage of Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians);
- To hold, preserve and maintain the artifacts, memorabilia and belongings of the SocietyTo establish; maintain and operate the museums of the Society and LdSH (RC);
- To establish, maintain and operate horse riding facilities; and,
- To collect and disseminate information of interest and relevance to members of the Society.
Board of Directors
The Regimental Society Board of Directors consists of the following members:
Chairman: The Colonel of the Regiment
President: Commanding Officer
1st Vice President: Regimental Second-in-Command
2nd Vice President: Regimental Sergeant-Major
Other members include all Former Commanding Officers, and Former Regimental Sergeant-Majors. The Board usually meets once a year, in conjunction with Moreuil Wood Ceremonies.
