Maj N.R.B. HevenorOfficer Commanding A SquadronMajor Nathan Hevenor enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in 2007 after graduating with a BA in Criminology from Carleton University. Upon completion of his armoured training, he was posted to Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) in 2008. Upon arrival to his Regiment, Major Hevenor assumed the position of Regimental Transportation Officer prior to assuming command of 1st Troop, A Squadron. During his first time with A Squadron, he deployed with his tank troop to Afghanistan from April to November 2010 on Op ATHENA Roto 9 as part of the 1st Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group. After returning in November 2010, he became Battle Captain, A Squadron subsequently deploying on Op LUSTRE 2011 to Manitoba to assist with flood relief efforts. In July 2011, Major Hevenor was posted to the Canadian Maneuver Training Centre in Wainwright, Alberta where he was employed as an Observer, Controller, Trainer until 2014. Following this posting he completed year-long French training prior to being posted back to the LdSH(RC). In June 2015, Major Hevenor returned to his Regiment, occupying the position of Battle Captain, B Squadron during the Road to High Readiness with the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) Battle Group. Upon completion of the road to high readiness, Major Hevenor assumed the duties of Second in Command Headquarters Squadron. In 2017, Major Hevenor deployed as the J3 Training Advisor on Op PROTEUS, Roto 18; Canada’s contribution to the United States Security Coordinator in Jerusalem. Upon his return in July 2018, Major Hevenor assumed the duties of G1, 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group until June 2020. In June 2020, Maj Hevenor assumed his current position as Officer Commanding, A Squadron. In his spare time, Major Hevenor enjoys being outdoors and keeping active. He is happily married to his wife Alyson and has two dogs Baily and Sherman. |
