Master Warrant Officer C.P. Zubkowski
Operations Master Warrant Officer
Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Zubkowski was born in Calgary, Alberta, on July 9, 1977. He began his military career in July, 1994 at the age of 17 as a reservist infantryman with the Calgary Highlanders. In September 1996, he transferred to the Regular Forces as a Crewman. He completed Battle School and Primary Combat Function training in CFB Gagetown, and was posted to Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) in February 1997.
MWO Zubkowski started his regimental life as a rifleman in B Coy LdSH (RC), deploying in this position to Bosnia-Herzegovina in June 1997 as part of Operation PALLADIUM. On his return to Canada, he completed a multitude of courses, including Coyote Driver, Winter Warfare, and Bison Driver courses. After deploying on a Sovereignty Operation in Canada’s North in February 1998, he remained in Recce Sqn, deploying two more times, once on Operation KINETIC in Kosovo in June of 1999 and again on Operation PALLADIUM in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2003.
MWO Zubkowski was posted to the Armour School in Gagetown, NB in 2005. As a member in the Royal Canadian Armour Corps School, he was employed as the TQ stores and as a driver for courses. Eventually, he became an instructor in C Squadron. During his posting, he completed a multitude of courses such as Primary Leadership Qualification (PLQ), Armoured Recce Crew Commander (ARCC), and Leopard C2 Crew Commander (Leo C2 CC) prior to his posting back to the Regiment in 2009.
On return to the Regiment, he was employed as a Leo C2 CC (11B) and completed his training on the Leo 2 A6M in Munster, Germany. He was deployed to Afghanistan in April 2010 and on his return, he maintained several Troop Sgt positions. In the fall of 2012, he was transferred to the Ceremonial Mounted Troop (CMT) as the troop WO. In CMT, he completed his Armoured Recce Troop Warrant course in CFB Gagetown in 2013 and upon his return was transferred from CMT to B Squadron as a Troop WO (24A).
While in B Squadron, he maintained his position as Troop WO until 2016 at which time he became the Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant (SQMS) for A Squadron until August of 2017, when he became the Regimental Transport WO. In July of 2018, he was posted to the French Language School in Edmonton. On successful completion of his Second Language Training, he returned as the Regimental Transport WO in July of 2019.
In January 2020, MWO Zubkowski deployed on OP REASSURANCE in Latvia as the Battle Group Transport WO with the majority of RHQ and other members of the Regiment. Upon his return from Latvia in July 2020, he was transferred to the position of SSM B Sqn. He remained in that position until he moved into his current position as the Regimental OPs MWO in RHQ in January 2022.
MWO Zubkowski has a very happy family life and enjoys spending time with his wife Patricia and their children, Robert and Mikayla. In his leisure time, he competes in Cowboy Action Shooting and enjoys spending time on the lake, fishing.
