Captain T.J. Hume, CD
Operations OfficerCaptain Hume enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves in 2002 and subsequently completed a Component Transfer to the Regular Force in 2007 after returning from a deployment in Afghanistan. Captain Hume arrived at his Regiment in late 2007 and was employed in multiple non-commissioned positions in both Reconnaissance and Tank Squadrons before Commissioning from the Ranks in 2016. Since that time, he has served in a variety of positions at the Regiment to include, 1st Troop Leader, Reconnaissance Squadron, Transport Officer, Battle Captain and Second in Command B Squadron.
Extra regimentally, Captain Hume has been employed as the G3 ISTAR for 1st Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, and as the Reserve Support Staff Adjutant to the South Alberta Light Horse.
Captain Hume’s operational experience includes two deployments to Afghanistan, Operation ARCHER and ATHENA, 2005-2006 with the Kandahar Provincial Construction Team and Operation ATHENA, Roto 7 as Loader in the Leopard 2A6M. Captain Hume has also completed three deployments to Latvia, Operation REASSURANCE, Roto 8(0), as the Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Platoon Commander, Roto 20-01 as Second in Command Combat Support Company, and Roto 23-02 as Second in Command of the Canadian Tank Squadron.
In his spare time, Captain Hume spends time outdoors and with his family. He and his partner Ashley have a daughter Heather and a mutt named Maggie. |
