Our tour started with a long flight across the country with a few stops along the way before heading over “the drink” to Afghanistan. The Air Force took very good care to ensure that we were all comfortable and well fed the whole 30 plus hours of travel.

The sound of the horn blasts in two shorts beeps, then continues simultaneously as organized chaos invokes the camp to move. In a flurry of activity, the sound of the warning alarm clears a full mess tent in seconds.

On the morning of January 5th, A Sqn TFA 1-10 departed for the National Training Center (NTC) in Ft. Irwin, California. It was a nice climate change from chilly Edmonton. The temperature rose as high as 20°c in the day and averaged 6°c at night.
